From contamination remediation through to post construction quality assurance, we pride ourselves on delivering sustainable and cost-effective solutions for our clients across commercial and residential projects.

Meet the Team

With over 80 years collective experience we’re a personable team with with a broad range of skills.

  • Dax is well regarded for his leadership capabilities, his ability to form and lead strong, dynamic project teams, and his enviable reputation for the delivery of successful, on-time and on-budget inspection, reporting and advisory services.

    Dax founded Waratah in 2014 to provide the benefit of his extensive experience in the solution-focused approach to construction reporting with the goal of providing pre-DA to post-DA reporting for developers, construction companies, Owner’s Corporations and government departments.

    Prior to founding Waratah, Dax has been involved in the delivery of small to large residential and commercial construction projects both in Sydney and Beijing with the last 12 years focused on consulting services in Australia.

    Dax has a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Asian Studies, Graduate Diploma of IT and Certificate 4 in Building. He is a member of the ASBC and a sitting member of their Strata Bond Building Inspection Scheme Strata Inspection Panel. He is a licensed builder and contractor with The NSW Department of Fair Trading.


  • Jordan has a Bachelor of Science (Geology and Environmental Sciences) and is a SafeWork NSW accredited Licensed Asbestos Assessor.

    Prior to launching Waratah’s Environmental department, Jordan developed a wealth of construction experience in Australia and Canada. Over the last 10 years, Jordan has worked on major government infrastructure projects utilising contamination and remediation techniques in the forefront of the industry.

    Jordan’s occupation hygiene experience includes in-depth investigation of hazardous building materials of large scale industrial / commercial sites such as the Sydney Opera House, a number of Sydney Trains assets and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

    Additional noteworthy accreditations include working at heights, confined spaces, certified first aider and NSW EPA radiation users license.

    Jordan’s broad range of construction experience has allowed him to deliver highly complex project objectives for Waratah’s clientele, all whilst meeting project cost objectives under extremely tight deadlines.


  • Nikolai joined Waratah in 2020 as a building inspector.

  • Jordan has over 10 years of administration experience. She has worked in a variety of industries including the performing arts, education, real estate and construction. Most recently she assisted the Principal agent and licensee of one of NSW largest real estate agencies. She is currently studying a masters of psychology at Macquarie university and takes pride in her continuing education and expanding her range of experience.


  • Simon has a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Structural and is an Internal Quality and Safety Auditor.

    Prior to joining Waratah Simon had established himself as an industry leader with a career spanning over 20 years, including over 6000 apartments, major commercial buildings, major shopping centres, data centres, new builds, refurbishments, heritage buildings, hotels and industrial facilities. His experience includes leadership roles on a range of Australia’s key residential, industrial, and commercial projects including the ongoing Snowy 2.0.

    Simon thrives in complex environments, assisting clients and builders who are delivering innovative and unique projects from large-scale commercial to multi-storey residential as part of the Strata Bond Building Inspection Scheme in NSW.
